What is ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of therapy that focuses on improving the most socially significant behaviors, such as social skills, communication, and activities of daily living (ADLs). ABA is primarily used to treat those with autism, but it's effective for children and adults with psychological disorders. ABA uses a variety of techniques, such as positive reinforcement, and functional communication training to bring about meaningful and positive change in behavior for the individuals we serve.

ABA is endorsed as an effective treatment for autism by the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the U.S. Surgeon General. Behavior analysts began working with young children with autism and related disorders in the 1960’s. Since then research has continued to produce well over 500 articles studying effective techniques for developing useful skills in learners from toddlers to adulthood.

ABA Services

At Elevated Therapeutics, it is imperative that our ABA team consists of highly trained, caring individuals. We pride ourselves in offering a 1:1 therapist-to-child model so our students have an optimal path to success.

The program begins with an initial consultation, followed by an initial assessment, planning, then ongoing assessment to determine the appropriate goals for the child and the effectiveness of the goals and techniques used. Once a treatment plan is initially created by our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) are matched with the child and begin ongoing services. Our team conducts weekly to monthly supervision and parent meetings to keep everyone current on the child’s progress.

The goal of our ABA Program is to help our children and their caregivers to lead happy, healthy, and productive lives, by focusing on the following:

Challenging behaviors

Social skills

Communication skills

Daily living skills

Much more!
